Best Reader of the Year - 2023

On December 28, 2023, the “Makhambet Uzdikteri-2023” award ceremony took place.

At this ceremony, the holder of the title “Best Reader of the Year” was a 4th year student of the specialty “Physical Culture and Sports” Amina Kadirkyzy. During 4 courses of study, Amina visited the library 73 times and read 92 books. Faculty activist, head of the FKS-43 group, leader of the volunteer organization “Akniet”, formed by students of the Faculty of Education, regular reader of the scientific library, active participant in events.

The Scientific Library traditionally organizes the “Reader of the Year” competition annually to influence the personal development of students, broaden their horizons, identify and encourage active readers, attracting young people to read books. The goal is to promote the importance of reading books. Tasbolatov Aidos Kanatuly, who won last year’s “Reader of the Year 2022” nomination, is currently an actor at the Aktobe Regional Drama Theater named after Takhaui Akhtanov. Congratulations to our current winner Amina Koshkinbaeva, who received the “Best Reader of the Year” nomination. May they have many victories and achievements.

School of Library Technology - 2023

From December 4 to 8 of this year, employees of the scientific library Tota Alimbekerova and Gulmira Janbayeva took part in a seminar-training on the topic “Modern university library: management, resources, technologies and service facilities”, organized jointly by the Association of University Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Nazarbayev University Library.

At the training seminar, topics were studied, such as: library management, supporting the scientific activities of universities, managing library scientific data, supporting the publishing activities of universities, managing electronic information resources in university libraries, library activities in the formation of media and information literacy, artificial intelligence and libraries , library marketing, strategies, university library as a socio-cultural center, how to make the library accessible and welcoming to everyone, features of access of people with disabilities to digital education and information resources, leadership orientation and solutions, speaking and writing about disability from an ethical and professional point of view .

This experience will be used in our work. We express our gratitude to our rector Nurlan Sergaliyev for his support.
