Give a book with love

On February 14, as part of the “Give a Book with Love” campaign dedicated to the International Book Giving Day, the scientific library of our university was presented with a work by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Alfiya Baybulsinova. The textbook “Kazakhstan kalalarynyn tarikh” describes in detail the cities of the Kazakh steppe, which were the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present day.

The monograph “Bokei Ordasy” comprehensively describes the history of the Bukei Horde, which occupies an important and unique place in the western territory of the country, from the time of its creation to the present day. The work contains the results of many years of scientific research by the author and the study of historical figures of the Bukey Horde.

The third edition in English is called “History of Medieval Kazakhstan”. The textbook contains data on medieval history and scientific research of Kazakhstan from the period of the Mongol invasion in the 13th century to the end of the last period of the Kazakh Khanate and the beginning of the 18th century. Political history is the management of international relations of the Kazakh state by the khans of the Kazakh Khanate and their public services in the interests of their country. The textbook reveals the problems of the formation of the ethnic group of the Kazakh Khanate, the problems of the Kazakh ethnonym, the socio-economic development of Kazakh society, and medieval culture.

These textbooks and monograph are intended for undergraduate history students, graduate students, and secondary school historian teachers, as well as for the general public interested in history.

The library collection has been replenished with one more art book. "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes. This is a single story in the science fiction genre, the author of which was awarded twice for the short story, and then for the novel with the same title, character, and plot. Thirty-three-year-old Charlie Gordon is mentally retarded. At the same time, he has a job, friends and a desire to learn. He voluntarily participates in an experiment to increase intelligence.... This fantastic story will delight you with its amazing psychological power and will make you think about universal questions of quality: do we have the right to experiment on each other and on others, what results can this lead to? This book was presented by Daniyar Kurmetov, a 1st year student of the OP “Chemistry” of our university.
